Lecture Series
1. To acquaint the M Phil students with the latest issue and challenges related to fiscal policy, the PIDE School of Public Policy organised an invited lecture on the topic “Fiscal Policy in Pakistan; Issues and Challenges” at PIDE on September 26, 2016. The lecture was delivered by Dr Mahmood Khalid, Senior Research Economist, PIDE. Sajid Amin Javed, Senior Research Fellow, Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Islamabad, delivered a talk on “Health (in)equities in Pakistan: A Look into Drivers and Policy Responses”. The event took place on October 27, 2016.
2. A seminar was organised on November 28, 2016 on “Terrorism Risks and Democratic Preferences in Pakistan”. The speaker for the seminar was Dr Faiz Ur Rehman, Assistant Professor, QAU, Islamabad.
3. Dr Tariq Amin Khan, Associate Professor, Ryerson University, Canada, delivered a talk on “Globalization, Migration and Securitization” followed by an informal discussion with the students on December 13, 2016.
4. Syed Pervaiz Abbas, Additional Secretary, Senate of Pakistan, Islamabad, will deliver a talk on “Parliamentary Process and Policy Making” on May 23, 2017.
